Planter Given Life Term in Prison for His Crime
De Kalb, Miss., Nov. 8.-- W. T. Boyd, a white planter, was convicted in the Circuit Court today of criminal assault on Mandy Watkins colored, and sentenced to life imprisonment in the penitentiary. Counsel for both sides agreed on this form of punishment, and no appeal will be taken.
