Trying To Lead Two Parties
The announcement that President Roosevelt has openly sought the aid and support of the Democratic Senators in the passage of the Tilman, Hepburn Rate Bill by inviting some of them to a conference at the White House emphasized our contention relative to the purposes of his recent trip through the South. The attempt of certain colored people to see and hear him was undoubtedly a source of embarrassment to him an annoyance to those far-seeing statesman, who had no doubt arranged the trip...
