Transcription

The Separate Car bill which a prejudiced legislator, Gen. Hundley, has offered deserves the silence which seems to be accorded it, and we hope it will be allowed to slumber and sleep until the session has ended.
These periodic attempts to stir up racial prejudice a reprehensible, and are made by men who should know better, but are simply acting in accordance with the wished of the lower strata of the whites, who know nothing of economic principles and governmental law.
Caste distinctions injure the communities practicing them and cause capital to hesitate and make short duration of its location there.
