In ’88

White politicians break their promise to send a black representative to the National Republican Convention.

In ’88 after promising the voters of the Third Congressional District of Virginia to send one white and one colored Republican to the National Republican Convention, Gen. Allan (white) and Judge Waddill (white) kept their word by sending themselves. And the colored folks have been “kicking” ever since.
