It is said that ex-Gov. P. W. McKinney is a candidate for the position of postmaster at Farmville, the salary of which is only $1500 per year. It will be remembered that this gentleman was the great lynching Governor.
He was subsequently a candidate for the Senatorship, but as there appeared to be but one man in the State in favor of him and that was himself, he withdrew from the race.
That the Democratic Party should have ever nominated and elected such material to the highest office in this state is direct evidence of its rottenness.
