The education system for black youth in Georgia is slowly getting better according to a recent report.

We have received “A Brief Historical Sketch of Negro Education in Georgia” by Richard R Wright,AM, presidents of the Georgia state industrial College For Colored youth. The work deals with the beginning of the education of the Negro in Georgia and ends with the present Public School System.
In his admirable account the author states that the colored people of Georgia pay taxes on about $16,000,000 worth of property and has $2,000,000 on deposit in the banks of the state and in bonds. Is speaking of the results of this education he says:
“The Negro is taking a reliable,Useful and honorable place in the business and Industrial world. He is becoming unintelligent producer and developing the resources of this gray state. Unlike the benign influence of the private and public schools are Georgia the Negro is becoming patriotic [unintelligent].”
And again:
“He is becoming more sensitive with regard to discourteous and offense. His restiveness is the natural [unintelligent].
