Summary

The Planet is calls upon its readers to donate to the Virginia Seminary to prevent the institution from going bankrupt.

Transcription

Virginia Seminary, the institution founded and controlled by the Afro-American Baptists of this state is sorely in need of money.
Fifteen hundred dollars must be raised at once to pay pressing notes and to meet interest on the bonded indebtedness. Will the Baptists heed this appeal? Will they save the institution? Will they have enough denominational pride to rally in this trying hour? We believe they will.
Brethren, raise all that you can at once and forward it to Prf. G. W. Hayes, president of Virginia Seminary, Lynchburg, Va.
How many more will subscribe to the ten dollar fund?
Let us rally. Let the ladies interest themselves in this movement. An unfinished building stares us in the face at Lynchburg.
The Methodists have set us an example worthy of imitation. They have erected and completed a stone structure in that vicinity.
Let us finish the work on our new building. Let us uphold the able president, and by all means let our facilities be placed there for the accommodation of the hundreds of students who in October will throng the door of the institution. Let us aid Virginia Seminary.
