Summary
Two black people witness a white mob lynching a black man at river, but the police arrest them when they report the crime.
Transcription
This man was brought to Dunellen, Friday, June 9th, a white mob took the man down the river, lynched him and then threw him in the river.
Included in the mob were two colored men, whom the whites took along to do the mean act. The colored men have since told what had been done, and just how the man was fixed before he was drowned. Hearing this some of the colored men proceeded to search for the lost man, and signed being favorable some of the men returned to town with arms and arrested the two colored men who were with the white mob. This created great excitement among the people.
